February meeting details

There’s now a confirmed subject for Monday’s meeting: Brewing Big Beers. Can’t wait!

There is currently no talk but we’re working on it! Watch this space…
There will also be the usual beer tasting and evaluation and question and answer session.

If you have beer for the tasting, please bring 3 pints/ 3x500ml bottles / 1.5 litres and let me know in advance so I can book in your beer in for a tasting slot. For the Q&A part, please send me any questions you would like answered, and I will email them to the group. We can then discuss them at the meeting.

All new members welcome – just turn up on the night.

The next meeting will be held at the usual venue – The Wenlock Arms, 6 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7TA.

The talk: how to (safely) convert a cheap kettle into an element for your boiler by Mike Ellenberg – a great ‘how to’ guide to an essential bit of kit, especially if you’re looking into improving your beers by doing a full-wort boil or wanting a back-up element to complement your existing set-up.

There will also be the usual beer tasting and evaluation and question and answer session.

LAB social this Thursday (21/10/10)

The second of our monthly socials, this time seeing the LAB crew descend on the marvellous Cask Pub & Kitchen, Charlwood Street (in between Pimlico and Victoria stations):

LAB social this Thursday (23rd Sep 2010)

A new monthly addition to the LAB calendar is a social event for members, friends, family, brewers and the generally beer-curious. Each month we’ll choose a different location from among London’s top beer pubs, go there and, erm, have a beer. If you want to know who we are and what we do or why we do it, just come along, grab yourself a pint and say hi, all welcome.

This month’s is being held this Thursday 23rd September, from 6.30 onwards at Brew Wharf, London SE1, home of the excellent @SaintsAndSinner beer, should be an awesome night.
